Babies Make Life Sweet

Saturday we had a Baby Shower for one of my good friends from home Jenna. She is due in October and is waiting to find out what the sex of the baby will be...it is killing all of us! We threw the shower at my moms house from 2-4pm, perfect time for a little ice cream right?
Sunny Lee came by the party with her camera and snapped a few shots for us.
The good pictures are from her!
We set up an Ice Cream Bar with all the toppings; they looked so pretty in all of the r.wood pottery.
Strawberries, Blueberries, Pineapple, Sprinkles, Oreos, Granola, Peanut Butter Cups, Cherries,
Walnuts and Pecans in Syrup, Whipped Cream, Chocolate Syrup, Toffee, M&Ms, and Pirouette Cookies. We also had the cutest cookies shaped like Onesies from Creative Crumbs by Gina.
The guest book was an idea from pinterest. All of the guests stamped their finger to make a blooming tree for Jenna to hang in the nursery. It looked so good when it was done...forgot to snap a pic of the finished tree.
After a couple of guests....
Opening presents to put in her new Pack & Play
We did "Wishes for Baby" and tied them together for her and Shane to keep and read to the baby. I found this cute idea on Pinterest too. A Free Printable...I had to do a little Mac Magic to keep our color scheme in place, but they turned out cute and they have loved reading our wishes.

Gifts, Gifts, Gifts
A BIG thanks to Sunny for sharing these wonderful pictures!
I just have to add this picture in from Jenna's Maternity Shoot with Sunny. I LOVE it! It captures my sweet junk food dog loving friend perfect!

CHI-town

Last Thursday Wesley and I made a trip to Chicago with Lauren and Ryals.

We were making fun of the boys for both bringing a manilla folder with our tickets/info for the trip.
Once we got there we dropped our bags at the hotel and went out for a scenic stroll. The boys got a nice view...
I couldnt get over the "beach". If only Atlanta had a beach all of my dreams would come true!
We walked on down to check out Navy Pier, pretty cool tourist trap I must say

Thursday night we went to dinner at Topo Gigio and then went to Second City Comedy Club
Second City is famous for producing a ton of SNL comedians, and it was hilarious!
After the show, we went to the top of the Wit Hotel to have a drink. The rooftop bar was right up my alley.
Wrigley Field was the first stop on Friday

We were ready to cheer on the Cubs
After the game, we rushed to get ready to make our 6pm Cocktail Architectural Boat Tour.
This was AMAZING! The boat went up through the river and out onto the lake. It was a fabulous way to see the city and learn about all of the beautiful buildings.

One of our favorite buildings...the Trump Tower

Saturday morning, Wesley and I went for a walk and found The Bean!

We wanted to get some shopping in so we headed to Armitage Avenue.
It was pouring outside, so we got some bags from BCBG to cover our heads and shop hopped!
Once it cleared up the Chicago Water & Air Show started and the boys took off to see what it was all about.

After seeing the planes fly by, Lauren and I couldnt resist we had to check it out too. It was so cool; I was amazed at the tricks.
That night we went to the Signature Room at the John Hancock for some pre-dinner drinks.
Here is the view from the top, look close and you can see the beach
We had dinner at Gibsons, which included a huge bowl of strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Before we left Sunday we went to the Lincoln Park Zoo.
This cat came right up to the window
and these monkeys made us cry we were laughing so hard
And before we caught our flight back home we had to get some chicago pizza.
What a great trip with great friends!

Love my Girls

Ok so before Chateau Elan and before Lake Lanier, I took a trip with my college girlfriends. We normally have our Annual Girls Weekend in the fall (which we are still having), but with no weddings this summer we hadn't seen each other and had to squeeze in a long weekend trip.
We rented a house on Lake Oconee and relaxed by the pool every day. We had dinner one night at The Ritz at Reynolds Plantation (the same place Carrie Underwood said I DO) and the next night went to see the movie Friends with Benefits...so cute! I love getting to spend time with these girls and I cant wait until October for our next trip!

**If you are adding up my past couple of posts you will realize...YES I have been living out of a suitcase. And I am leaving TODAY for the Hamptons again! I dont mind keeping my bags packed for this.
