A Chair Makeover

I have been super slack on showing you updates at our house. With all of our traveling, there hasn't been a ton of time at home to do too much. But I do have a couple of projects I want to share.
I will start with this chair makeover. Do you remember when I bought this chair?
I spotted it at The Yard Sale for $35
I thought it had potential with a little paint, fabric, and love.
And here is the after...
Some white spray paint and a navy and white fabric
I scored at Old Time Pottery for crazy cheap!
Have a good weekend!

Country Living

I love living in Atlanta. Lots to do, places to eat, places to shop, people to see, but there is nothing like going back home to South Georgia to visit my small town. Last week I took all three kids I nanny down to Cordele to show them a little country living.
The first stop was the missile at the exit of our town. I don't think anyone knows why it is there, but it seems to be really cool for kids.
This was the first time we had gotten out of the car and Reese said to me, "Hollie the bees are trying to get up my nose." Well Reese those are gnats and they will bother you all day!
We got to pet and feed Maggie, my parents goat. I have mentioned this before, but Maggie has been doing a little yard work for my parents for a while now.

We loaded up the golf cart and the 4-wheeler to go for an afternoon ride thru the woods.
The kids loved these rides!

These guys were so excited to take the wheel.
Dad showed them the deer tracks in the dirt
Reese helped my mom with some gardening; they picked tomatoes and cucumbers.
My brother Russ took Stuart out to the deer lease on morning to show him how country boys live.
He had him putting out corn...Climbing up the deer stand
and then stopped by the Pool Room for the famous Chili Cheese Dog. Stuart even said it was better than The Varsity!!
Reese sported her watermelon swimsuit for The Watermelon Capitol of the World
Dad and Russ took the older two to see Spiderman while Reese and I went for a play date with one of my friends, her adorable 3 year old, and a brand spankin' new baby!

I got to see all my friends kiddos!
Mom had homemade Ice Cream for us when we got back.
Before we left the country we had a target practice with the BB Gun

we set up this balloon target for them to hit

Stuart and Lanier did great! Reese even hit a balloon.
One more golf cart/4-wheeler ride and we headed back north. It was so fun to see the kids in my hometown doing the things I grew up doing. Now they want a 4-wheeler for Christmas...OOPS!
The trip was a hit and everything was perfect...except that on the way home in the back of the car Reese got a candy Nerd stuck up her nose.

Lanier tried to help her blow it out. We still have no sign of the candy.

Down in Destin

To celebrate the Fourth of July Wesley and I went to Destin for a little vacation. To wish our country a Happy Birthday we pulled the boat up on the point and made a day of it.
The boys did the usual beach games
We stayed out there until the fireworks were over and all the other boats were gone.
Thursday we went over to Watercolor to visit The Letts. It has become such a fun tradition to spend one day on the beach with them.
That night we stayed out on 30-A for dinner on The Roof at Whiskey Bravo.
It was a great view and I totally recommend the seafood nachos.
Later in the trip we were invited to go on an offshore fishing trip.
The girls catching some rays

Erin, Ashley, Adam and myself reeling 'em in
We were so excited and ended up having an amazing catch. We caught our limit of Snapper in 45 minutes. Thanks to Captain Bobby for guiding us right over the fish.
The whole crew
Wesley caught the huge Grouper in the middle. It was so exciting to see that big fish come up on the other end of his line. He was thrilled and I was so proud of him!
It weighed in around 55lbs.
Due to our successful morning catch we were back inland by 1pm. That gave us plenty of time to head out to Crab Island. That place never gets old.
We were so glad to spend our vacation with great friends. I hope to get back down there this summer!

Fourth of July!

I am so excited about the Fourth of July this year. We will be at the beach, but if I was having a party I would want it to look something like this.

 YUM YUM YUM

The other day we got festive around here and made some chocolate covered pretzels and cake pops!
I found these sprinkles at Michaels

We also got this oh so cute vintage inspired suit for Reese
One other thing I made for the holiday were these Cake Batter Blondies
I used red, white, and blue sprinkles instead of rainbow. They were delicious!
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!!!
