Windows, Windows Everywhere

This is our guest bathroom.
I actually love the window in the shower. It lets so much natural light in and adds character to the house to keep that old feel. The floors are also one of my favorite things about the house. The black and white tile are in excellent condition and creates so much charm for the small space.
Bathroom Before:

Right now are you saying "WOW...SMALL MIRROR?" Well you should be! Isnt it just awful? And you also might be thinking did we paint? Nope the color in the first picture and this one are the same, but for some reason they look totally different. The room is a deep gold...that WILL be changed!
So for now, we have changed the mirror to this
simple larger scale beauty from Pottery Barn
and added a cute rug from Anthropologie. The temporary shower curtain is our old master white curtains hung at ceiling height. This makes the small room seem so much bigger.
Oh yea, and another orchid. This one I got from my boss as a housewarming gift; it is the most beautiful fuchsia color I have ever seen.
I am thinking about skirting the sink to give us some extra storage.
Here are some images that give me inspiration.

This is one of my favorite rooms of all time

and here are some shots that make me love how
simple and elegant the pedestal sink can be

They also hung the curtains to the ceiling
Some storage over the door is a must!

and also a new light fixture
These two are both from Home Depot
Sorry this one was taken by my phone at Progressive Lighting.
or what about unexpected lighting?

As for color, this is one of my favorite bright bathrooms
Maybe I can get my dad up to help me add some board & batten to the wall.
Decisions, Decisions!

One room at a time

It is time for some house updates for you. I feel like we have been doing something all the time, but it seems we aren't getting to my goal fast enough.
Here is one of the guest rooms before:
This is the only angle I took since there was nothing else to see. As you can see, there is one window on the back wall that is not centered and drove me crazy!
Here is how we fixed that problem.

Now that I have a sewing machine I am hoping to make
some more fabrics come alive in this space.

For now I have the painting that was above our couch in here over the chest.
I scored this beauty at HomeGoods!
I love the finish and the details of the pulls. Most of all I love that it appears to be three full drawers, but it is actually nine smaller ones.
My lovely orchid I brought back to life...I am so proud!
We haven't painted this room yet, luckily the bedding goes with the neutral color for now.
Stay tuned for more updates!!!

Holiday Season

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Wesley & I were down in south Georgia for some holiday fun.
We got to see Baby Jude
Unwrap a ton of gifts
ohh and ahh at all the cute christmas cards
Get some fun toys for the outside of the house
 and for the inside too
Mom added this little cutie to our family
got Wesley ready for the yard
of course got a new ornament....its a new house
 and my favorite candle
and so many more wonderful presents. Im so excited I got a sewing machine as a total surprise, now I just have to figure out how to use it and I am going to be one mad machine!
Here I am showing off Wesleys wrapping skills...you may not be able to tell but there is about half a roll of tape on the back of this gift.
He hooked me up with a....piece of paper....well hopefully it will be the new iphone, if it will ever come in. And I actually gave him....a piece of paper....a gas and charcoal grill (too big to travel)
We had an awesome time with both of our families. We are so lucky to be able to have our families so close together. After getting settled back in Atlanta, we got our party boots on one more time and headed to the Zac Brown Concert for New Years Eve.
A little blurry, but Wesley, Trent, and Jeff were ready for some country
Alyssa, myself, and Amy were ready for the dancing
We had dinner downtown at Alma Cocina, I would totally recommend and will be returning.

We finally made it up to the Heineken Suite for the music to start
Best seats EVER! Such a fun concert, that guy can sing just as good live!!
After a stop by Krystals and a whole day of recovering, we managed to get it together and have people over for some games on Monday and set some New Years Resolutions.
Im so excited for everything we have planned so far for 2012.

Gettin' Out

We have been able to get out of the house and take a break from house projects too.
We have been to dinner at Haven and then Bourbon Bar with friends.

We went down to the dome for the SEC Championship game

Spent some time with my favorite girls to exchange christmas gifts.
Attended Laurens first wedding shower, a tea at The Ritz Carlton, it was fabulous!
And I've been spending a lot of time dressing up my sweet Reese in her Christmas dresses getting her ready for her BIG 4th birthday party.

And we are off to Metter, Ga today to spend time with Wesley's family for the holidays.
9 Days till Christmas!!!
